This issue of Asian Dispute Review commences with a speech by former Hong Kong Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma Tao-li GBM on ‘Hong Kong and its Role in International Arbitration’ delivered at the ADR in Asia Conference: Redesigning International Arbitration during Hong Kong Arbitration Week 2020.

This is followed by Jan Paulsson’s lecture on ‘Omnipotence Fantasies’, which he delivered as the Kaplan Lecture 2020 in November 2020.

William Lu then examines ‘The Chinese Law Perspective on Arbitration and Insolvency Proceedings’.

For the In-house Counsel section, James Kwan, Zoe Dong and Phoebe Yan discuss the implications of choosing a foreign arbitral institution in China and examine whether the China arbitration market is opening up.

Dr Le Net and Le Thanh Hieu then present developments in international arbitration in Vietnam for the Jurisdictional Focus section.
